About Olivia Knoedt

I’m a software engineer and engineering manager from London, UK. I’ve been working in the tech industry since 2011 and I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BSc in Computer Science. Since then, I’ve gained diverse experience through both full-time and freelance work across industries such as social impact, automotive, geospatial, e-commerce, finance and employee benefits. I’ve worked across the stack with a variety of technologies, services and languages, with a focus on web development. In recent years, my work has expanded into leadership, cloud computing, and DevOps.

From 2017, I spent 3 years at BCGDV in Berlin building start-ups from scratch, leading on to a role as Head of Engineering at OpenSC (a joint venture founded by BCGDV & WWF). Currently, I’m working with 101 Ways as a Lead Technology Consultant - helping technology leaders solve challenging problems and build great digital products. I most recently worked on modernising Recharge.com’s 16 year-old legacy tech stack, re-platforming from scratch and helping the team hire, implement modern software practices, and deliver with both speed and quality.

Outside of work, I’m also a parent, balancing career and family life. Over the years, I’ve learned about more than just technology and writing code. I’ve loved learning about personal and team productivity, building strong team dynamics, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and understanding what diversity and inclusion means for a company and its people. I’ve experienced the highs and lows of building and launching startups, navigating rapid growth, and the constant drive for innovation and improvement. I love to write and speak, and I’m truly passionate about supporting other women and minorities in tech where I can.

Let’s connect! If you’re interested in working together, inviting me to speak at an event, or collaborating on a piece, I’d love to hear from you. I’m especially passionate about supporting women and underrepresented groups in tech, so if you’re looking for mentorship, advice, or just a chat, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Feel free to connect with me via LinkedIn or my contact form. Looking forward to hearing from you!
